From either side of the spectrum I’m looking to meet in the middle.
Whether it’s decomposing the “religious” imagery to a material state,
Or awaiting the revelation in the objects/materials/mediums alone.
Questioning the aesthetic experience and the religious experience;
The image vs the material
The sign vs the essence
The simulation vs the experience
A process of throwing dirt on the “sacred” & finding meaning in the muck.
Some things speak loudly and say nothing while others in silence speak sermons.
Those who have eyes, let them hear.
Working through my constant convictions; more so, a theological journey through the existential labor of making.
